Srebarna

Nature/Location

The Srebarna Nature Reserve is located in the northeast region of Bulgaria - a few kilometers from the Danube river, 18 km west of Silistra. It comprises Lake Srebarna and its surroundings and is an important wetland located on the Via Pontica, a bird migration route between Europe and Africa. As a result, it provides nesting and migratory habitat for many endangered bird species.

The reserve embraces 6 km2 of protected area and a buffer zone of 5.4 km2. The lake’s depth varies from 1 to 3 m. There is a museum constructed, where a collection of stuffed species typical for the reserve is arranged.


Goliam Beglik Dam

Golyam Beglik is a reservoir near the central parts of the Rhodope Mountains, Bulgaria. It was formerly officially called the Vasil Kolarov reservoir.

Nature

The dame coast is populated with pine forest which makes it good for camping. Pine forests are not very dense so there are a lot of space for your tent, caravan or van.
